AERONAUTICA

Sueño de volar

AERONAUTICA is a staged photographic series developed in Mallorca.
Constructed scenes created in real locations bring together landscape, human presence, and transformed maritime objects to explore aspiration, connection, and the experience of moving through uncertainty.

The work unfolds as a sequence of large-scale images in which everyday gestures coexist with moments of quiet impossibility. Traditional vessels appear positioned within the landscape, as instruments — carrying the tension between what is rooted and what seeks to move.

The project is currently being developed as an application for Palma 2031 cultural programming.

APPLICATION PALMA 2031

Constructed scenes created in real locations bring together landscape, human presence, and transformed maritime objects to explore aspiration, connection, and the experience of moving through uncertainty.

The work unfolds as a sequence of large-scale images in which everyday gestures coexist with moments of quiet impossibility. Traditional vessels appear positioned within the landscape, as objects that carry the tension between what is rooted and what seeks to move.

The art production seeks support for 6 photographic works and a premier presentation in Palma. A constructed vessel and other props will be retained as sculptural elements within the exhibition.

AERONAUTICA reflects on movement, belonging, and the persistence of personal dreams through images shaped by Mallorca’s landscapes and traditions.

PROJECT SUMMARY

The images draw from Mallorca’s cultural and physical landscape — ports, pastoral interiors, historic structures, and the Serra de Tramuntana — placing human presence at the center. Winged vessels appear intermittently, extending the emotional space of the work without becoming its subject.
Each scene is physically staged on location through construction, casting, and light, allowing imagination to emerge from tangible conditions.

Image sizes up to 4-6 meters

Images are produced at dimensions up to five meters, allowing the viewer to experience photography spatially rather than illustratively.
Camera equipment is supported through a partnership with 711, providing a 150-megapixel system suitable for exhibition scale.
Large-format printing is being developed with specialist European studios.
